Description

The Zonta Club of Adelaide Inc is part of a global organisation of women in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy. Zonta International has more than 30,000 members in 1,200 clubs in 65 countries who, since 1923, have provided more than US$11 million to projects benefiting more than 2 million women in 37 countries. Zontians volunteer their time, talents and support to fundraise for local and international service projects, and to scholarship programs aimed at fulfilling Zonta's mission and objectives. These projects make a difference to women’s lives. Our club contributes to the Zonta International projects and advocacy initiatives and develops its own local projects consistent with the aims and objectives of Zonta International. The friendship and fellowship which is apparent between Zontians is a direct result of likeminded women whatever their faith, race or political views working together on a common cause. To improve the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women through service and advocacy To work for the advancement of understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of executives in business and the professions; To promote justice and universal respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. To be united internationally to foster high ethical standards, to implement service programs and to provide mutual supports and fellowship for members who service their communities, their nations and the world.
