It was May 17, 2014 after a frequent, impromptu, shared energy meditation with a friend. “Energy” because my friend is in another country, and we just text each other to schedule meditation together. After my timer buzzed to signal the end of our 20 minute mediation, my friend text me a typical “thanks, I really needed that, perfect timing.” He expected me to respond in like, and we would go on with our days. But this time I responded, “I just had a brainstorm.” We continued to discuss how I wanted to be able to offer our wonderful experiences of shared mediation to others. Will the magnified benefits of our shared meditation be possible over the internet? As I was formulating my thoughts to make this happen, a new gift entered my life. I rescued a beautiful Doberman Pinscher, whom I named Present Moment on my drive to the Humane Society. I thought, “she will help me to stay in routine to meditate, so I can better offer it like clockwork, live, to you. Though I am far from an expert on anything. I simply have a passion for healthy living, striving for happiness, living in the moment (less the drama and gossip) inner peace, love for all and this universe... Breaking away from the rat race, downward spiral I see with all aspects of health in general - I could write a book on it, but don't want to focus on the negatives. I just want to facilitate a fun and "doable" means of beginning and sticking with one's goal to incorporate meditation into his/her daily life. I can speak about my experience with meditation and what it has done for me alone, and then magnified shared with others... but I would like an open forum to let the experts handle the theoretical education aspects. It is years of study, and I do not wish to undermine anyone, or discredit or reduce that foundational knowledge.
