Never been on a Tweed Heads Motor Cycle Enthusiast Club run before, come along and experience nice easy riding with a great group of people.
Please take the time to sign up to this, you DO NOT have to give any money if you do not wish to, I have not at this stage as the more we spread this amongst our friends etc the more they may take notice. https://www.change.org/p/sunshine-coast-council-sunshine-co…?
HOW GOOD IS THIS?. Please read carefully. As the "park & ride" is separate to the THMCEC swap meet although it will be manned by our members.. Cooly Rocks On are providing a park and ride service from Border Park to the Cooly Rocks On precinct in Coolangatta and return. Saturday 11th June times will be 8am until 6pm at a cost of $3.00 per car (bargain). see websitehttp://www.coolyrockson.com/#!blank-3/tr1s7 Note that our swap meet is not on this day but the next as stated in the next paragraph. For those wishing to attend the Tweed Heads Motor Cycle Enthusiast Clubs 27th annual swap meet on Sunday the 12th June at border park raceway entry fee will be $3.00 (kids free), the seperate $3.00 (per car) park and ride bus service will once again be provided by Cooly Rocks On and manned by THMCEC members. This will allow people to park inside the racetrack and be bussed around to the miles street Surfside bus stop where the main bus will take you into the Cooly Rocks On precinct. This service will leave Border Park (swap meet) every half hour on the hour from 8am to 6pm however please note that the Border Park gates will be locked at 7pm with no access after that for cars.
Our raffles will be starting up again soon so please show your support to your club and the teams that volunteer to run the raffles each and every week.
Bring your friends along for a cold drink, a chance to win some great prizes and introduce them to your fellow club members
Well that’s the THMCEC AGM done and dusted for another year, congratulations to all the committee members etc for a fantastic job throughout 2018 as well as all those members who got in and helped throughout the year as well.
A couple of key things to come out of todays AGM is that starting next year members will be required to attend at least 4 club functions, that being rides, raffles etc before being able to attend future club Christmas parties, this is a way of getting member support throughout the year and then rewarding those supporters with a party in December, the other is Phil the cook is stepping back a little in 2019 and so anybody that can help with cooking/set up etc on a run or two during the year please let President Gary know.
And PLEASE if possible come and spend an hour or so with your mates for a drink at the Coolangatta raffles on a Saturday or the Kirra Sports Club on a Thursday night or both if you wish, as this is what helps our club do what it does for charities.
Prior to a run leaving please make sure you are close enough (near the front door of the club) to hear all instructions about the run being given by the President and/or the run leader as it seems some are missing vital points about the runs.
Besides Phil and his team that feeds us lol CORNER MARKERS are the most important people on our runs as they hold us all together as a group so we all make it to the next stop and get to enjoy each others company, unfortunately on several runs we have become splinter groups as the corner markers became none existent.
We set off from our meeting point or stop points when the run leader, tail end charley, and the back up trailer are ready to go,(these people will be introduced to you prior to the run leaving) from then on nobody stops you from enjoying your ride BUT if you find yourself behind the run leader (2nd in line) and he turns a corner or if you think it’s a change of direction that the following riders may miss YOU MUST wait on that corner in a safe spot and in clear view of the following riders so they know which way they need to go.
We feel that the problem is that when there is a lot of bikes on the run you may be sitting on a corner for a long time before tail end charley comes past and you may think that you yourself will get lost on the next turn, however this will not be the case as long as the person marking the corner after yours also has the patience to wait for tail end charley to come past.
If you are a club member and see a non member marking a corner please stop and take over from that person so they do not become impatient/frustrated and leave the corner.
Also if you are a corner marker there is no need for you to race all the way back to the front to corner mark again as that becomes the responsibility of the person now riding behind the run leader, who by the way should if possible point at the corner telling that person to stay there.
You can certainly catch up to and pass others who want to travel that bit slower, but you must do it in a safe and courteous manner as others may not have the riding experience that you have.

Attendance has been low of late and while Kirra
Sports Club has always been supportive of our club, we need to be supportive of
them as well.
also like some feed back or suggestions from members on our raffles and club
functions, for example if they would prefer the two assorted meat trays at
Coolangatta or are they happy with just the one single top quality tray?
We do not need to remind members that these raffles are the clubs bread and
butter, without which we will not be able to make donations to our charities and
function as an effective, “Not for Profit organisation” and lose our ability to hold
these raffles and raise the much needed funds.
And once again we would like to thank the raffle team members that put in the
hard yards every week to raise the funds that make the club the success it is, as
well as the members that attend the raffles and support their effort.
We are appealing to members for this much needed extra support of our raffles
because as some members may not be aware that we have lost our Border
Park storage unit and are now paying rent of $60 per week which is over $3,000
per year to store our trailers which is now one of the clubs largest overheads and
will deplete our funds considerably until we can find alternative and permanent
storage for them in the future.
