Welcome to Topcroft Forest School! We offer weekly sessions for toddlers and pre-school children and their parents outdoors providing time for free play and nature activities. The main ethos of Forest School is to help raise self-confidence and self-esteem by providing children with lots of opportunities for self-directed play and small, achievable goals. Children are also encouraged to take and manage risks for themselves in a safe environment. Examples of activities include; mini-beast hunts, playing in the mud kitchen, water play, den building, camp fires, natural arts and crafts, stories, rhymes and games. The sessions are run by Amy who is a qualified Teacher, Forest School Leader and holds a qualification in Outdoors First Aid. Amy began her Forest School Training after becoming frustrated with the restrictive and pressurised nature of mainstream teaching and is much more at home in the woods!
