Toronto Wildlife Centre

at 4 - 60 Carl Hall Rd., Toronto , M3K 2C1 Canada

Toronto Wildlife Centre is a wildlife hospital, rehabilitation centre, rescue team, emergency hotline, and public education program in the GTA. Toronto Wildlife Centre was founded by a small group of volunteers, who were concerned that there was no help for sick, injured or orphaned wildlife in the Toronto area. Started in 1992 and led by TWC Executive Director Nathalie Karvonen, the group spent their first year running a basic wildlife hotline from a rented phone, and gathering resources to open a wildlife centre where wild animals could be admitted for rehabilitation. On March 28, 1993, TWC opened its doors for the first time, and they have remained open every day since.
