The government recommends we eat at least two portions of seafood a week. Seafood is a ‘health-food’ in more ways than one; first and foremost it's jam-packed with nutrients, vitamins and minerals that help to keep our bodies in shape. Seafood is also well-known as an excellent source of Omega-3, a very important fatty acid that our bodies can't produce on their own.
Did you know that baked beans count towards one of your five a day? They’re a great source of fibre too! Why not add them to your order next time you visit? Only 85p a portion.
As an alternative to the traditional battered fish, Towngate Fisheries also offers poached haddock. Without any batter it’s ideal for anyone with a wheat allergy too. A poached fish is the same price as our battered fried fish and is prepared to order in just a few minutes.

Fancy something a little different? Why not try our Large ‘Cape Haddie’ Hake Fillet at only £3.50? Hake has a subtle flavour with firm, sweet and flaky flesh. It is sourced from an MSC certified sustainable fishery and is caught by the freezer trawler Harvest Lindine, off the coast of southern Africa, where the cold, nutrient-rich Benguela current sweeps up the west coast from the Antarctic. It’s a really tasty alternative to haddock and cooked to order in just 7 minutes.
