In 1989, Kon Kalimnios was asked by family friends- if he would be interested in accepting the role in being their Master of Ceremonies for their upcoming wedding day. Kon accepted; but didn't realise it would be the fruition of a rewarding and personally gratifying career in Professional Services/Customer Service. Kon remembers being excited, and accepting the role whole heartedly; even though he had never been a Master of Ceremonies before... He embraced the opportunity with the greatest enthusiasm and determination; to effectively succeeed in accomplishing the task, to the best of his abilities. Together with the bride and groom, Kon prepared the program and translated it into Greek to accomodate the majority of guests that were Greek. The result was an absolute success- and since then, an illustrious career has evolved for Kon Kalimnios; he has been the Master of Ceremonies at birthdays, private functions and events, engagements, weddings, hairdressing awards, major fund raising events, formal balls and school fetes. Kon has even presented a eulogy at a funeral before 400 people. In fact, Kon's largest audience to date has been 1,500 people. He has the proven ability to prepare professional programs and speeches, even at short notice and effectively executes and delivers to his audiences at all times. He is passionate about customer service, and is able to efficiently engage with his audiences with ease. Furthermore, Kon's impeccable and excellent communication and customer service skills, coupled with his professional and well developed ability to build rapprt and effectively communicate with people from all levels of society; has allowed Kon the opportunity to succeed within the broad and extensive skills sets of his career. Based on these qualities, skills and invaluable and extensive experiences, Kon feels that he has definitely been rewarded both personally and professionally. Kon has professional qualifications in Human Resources Management, Training and Assessment and currently works as a Promotions Host, in Wollongong. Kon has held many positions in various committees, and has worked with charities and he has even organised fundraising events and gala balls. He has even spoken on local and national radio. Kon has always believed in 'life-long' learning and decided to acquire additional skills. He also considered what other skills or professional avenues would enhance his already developed skills set in Customer Service. Hence he considered training in Celebrancy- besides, Kon had imagined becoming a Civil Marriage Celebrant and firmly belived that this qualification would ideally enhance his already well developed and established Customer Service skills set. In 2012, Kon commenced training in Certificate 4 Celebrancy; He successfully completed the course and in 2013 launched his new business Treasured Moments By Kon Kalimnios, specialising in Weddings, Commitment Ceremonies, Naming Days, House Blessings and Eulogies. As a Civil Marriage Celebrant, and based on years of experience in Customer Service, Kon firmly believes that his expertise and passion will appeal to any customers wishing to engage his services.
