In 1964, while a student at Baylor University, Roland Duty got a job working at Pepe's Pizza in Waco, Texas. The business was owned by Col. E.M.Stinson. After several years the business sold to John Diebolt. While attending school part time, Mr.Duty purchased two of the Pepe's Pizza locations. In 1969, Roland bought two locations: one at the Golden Triangle and one near Baylor University. On August 1,1969 Pepe's became Poppa Rollo's Pizza. In 1979, the Golden Triangle Shopping Center was torn down to make way for business growth in the Valley Mills Drive area. We moved to our current location at 703 N. Valley Mills Drive in April, 1979. The business grew and in less than 10 years had more than tripled in size. We now occupy more than 11,000 square feet and can seat more than 500.

Dave's Burger Barn
600 North Patricia Street Waco , TX 76705 null

On September 28, 2009, Dave's Burger Barn was founded by Cindy and David Hammons in Waco, Texas. Dave's vision of having a burger joint near local high schools and college campuses came during his college time at T.S.T.I. Mr. and Mrs. Hammons have both lived in the surrounding area for over 30 years and are proud supporters of the city of Lacy Lakeview. The two of them combined have more than 25 years of restaurant experience.  On January 2, 2010 Cindy's son, Tim Quiroz, was added as a partner. Mr. Quiroz brings his business knowledge, which he obtained at Baylor University and at The University of Texas at San Antonio. His restaurant experience came throughout his working days in college. Mr. Quiroz's passion for food began from childhood through his grandmother Viola Hinojosa, who ran and owned a restaurant in Elm Mott, Texas for several years.  Our business philosophy is simple: "Serve customers the freshest, richest quality of foods possible, while maintaining a sparkling clean environment and providing unforgettable friendly service." Due to their philosophy and principles, success has come much faster than expected.  Our commitment to quality begins with our food. All of our menu items are made fresh to order, with 100% all beef or chicken. They are free of additives, fillers and preservatives of any kind. What makes us stand apart from local competitors, is that all of our meats and poultry is fresh. None of our meat ever enters a freezer. Each hamburger pattie is made by hand. We pay a premium to purchase fresh, high quality beef chuck. We also individually inspect every beef chuck tube that we receive to ensure that it meets our standards. We’ve always made our hamburger patties this way.
