The Alpha Sigma Chapter at Cal is the 42nd oldest of over 200 chapters and colonies in the United States and Canada, as well as the first PKA chapter on the west coast. Founded in 1912, the chapter was one of the few houses that remained active throughout the Depression, World War II, and the 1960's antiestablishment period. Chapter Summary/Information: As Pikes we strive to be Scholars, Leaders, Athletes, and Gentleman. We believe that in being this we can accomplish great things and succeed in making the world a better place. We have a vision to “set the standard for integrity, intellect, and achievement for our members, host institutions, and the communities in which we live”. | "work hard, play hard” Annual Events: Game days, exchanges, IM sports, invites, Philanthropy, and Formals Chapter History: Pi Kappa Alpha was formed on Sunday evening March 1st, 1868, at the University of Virginia. The 6 founders formed the fraternity with the beliefs of the establishment of friendship on a firm and lasting basis, the promotion of brotherly love and kind feeling, and the mutual benefit and advancement of the interests of those that are deemed worthy. Today Pike has grown to be one the biggest international fraternities and has maintained the largest average chapter size and pledge class size for most of the last 20 years. Our particular chapter is the first Pike house established west of the Mississippi River and has been recognized as one of the more groundbreaking chapters. We have stood out many times in doing many of the “firsts” of any Pike chapter, we have a very rich and interesting history.

We equip girls with the skills to exercise the power of their voice. At GL, we offer camps and workshops designed to teach girls, educators and parents the core practices of emotional intelligence, healthy relationships, and assertive self-expression. Taught by professional, salaried instructors, all GL programs use interactive lessons and theatre-based techniques to help girls connect with their emotions and practice the tools of building healthy, authentic relationships. The courses are age-appropriate and progressive, following girls’ developmental needs from grade school through high school.
