Students Funding Campus Sustainability Projects...reducing our ecological footprint by changing physical operations, promoting sustainable behavior and raising awareness.
The Green Action Fund was founded from the 2008 bill approved to reallocate the $5 solar semester fee to a campus sustainability grant program. The committee, comprised of students and the Director of the Office of Sustainability, Faculty Sustainability Committee Representative and Director of Facilities, formed in Fall of 2011 and began accepting grant requests for projects that increase sustainability at UCCS in Spring of 2012. Over 2 dozen programs have been implemented since then, due to collaboration between actively engaged, committed and passionate students, faculty and administration. Students propose and implement projects funded by their fees in an interdisciplinary environment with the overarching goal of reducing the campus ecological footprint by changing physical operations, promoting sustainable behavior and raising awareness about sustainability.
Awesome cars, trucks, motorcycles, and hot girls!
