WHY USE A PERSONAL TRAINER? How long will you make the most of paying your gym membership? Most people use the gym regularly for a few weeks or a couple of months, then their motivation levels drop. If you’re one of the few that do continue to use your gym-then great! But let me ask you this, what kind of results are you getting? A Personal Trainer can help you to get even better results! Most gym memberships are in some sort of contract, with a Personal Trainer you can end your agreement at any time! When did your gym or gym instructor last measure you, push you as hard as you need, update your program, give you free resources to help you stay motivated, send text messages to prompt you to train, take an interest at your nutrition or offer you personalised motivation? WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? You will just need appropriate clothing, a bottle of water/squash and possibly a small towel. You will be informed if sessions are outdoors-if this is the case bring extra water/squash in hot conditions and lots of warm layers of clothing for cold conditions. WHAT DO I WEAR? Wear something that is comfortable but that won’t restrict your movement in any way. If you are made aware by your trainer that you are training outdoors-dress to the weather (warm layers when cold and cool clothing for hot summer days). Wear suitable trainers that have good grip. Toning shoes that are advertised to help you shape up are not advised as it heavily affects balance during certain exercises. Examples of clothing you could wear are: tracksuit bottoms, leggings, shorts, baggy t-shirt, vest top or hoodie. WHERE ARE SESSIONS HELD? I am based at Holiday Inn Rotherham but can also hold sessions at my own home as well as doing home visits (no extra charge for sessions within a 10mile radius). Sessions may also be held at local parks, local gyms, sports halls, swimming pools etc. You will be notified prior to the session where it will be held. HOW MANY SESSIONS SHOULD I HAVE? At a minimum I would say at least two sessions a month (you would need to follow a home program on your own in-between sessions). My clients who have achieved the best results were training with me 2-3 times a week. Some of my clients use me every now and then (when they have the time and can afford to do so); however I have seen a huge difference in motivation and results doing it this way! If you fail to plan you plan to fail! One tip: is give any change in diet or exercise at least 6 weeks. HOW DO I BOOK? One to one Personal Training sessions are £25.00 each. Sessions include: -Goal setting and planning -A program/plan set around your work and social calendar -Advice and tips on your nutritional needs -Text messages to prompt you to exercise or check if you are on your way to meeting your weekly targets -Free resources to take home to help you keep motivated and keep a record of your progress -Training which varies from circuit training, running, bodyweight exercises etc etc! DO YOU NEED ANY INFORMATION BEFORE? To assess if I am able to help you, to see if a doctors consent is required or if I feel you may need a specialist, such as a physiotherapist, I will ask you: -If you have any heart or circulatory conditions -If you have or have recently had chest pains -If you have bone or joint problems that are aggravated by physical activity -If you have back or neck pains -Currently pregnant or recently had a baby -If you have suffered any serious illness or had major surgery As well as knowing about the above, I would need your name, date of birth, height, current weight and contact details.
