The UNFFT is supporting HH the Dalai Lama's *Middle Way* (Umaylam), Tibets Sikyong Dr Lobsang Sangay, DIIR and the CTA UNITED WE STAND .To understand why we support the Middle Way, we posted the following link: http://www.dalailama.com/messages/middle-way-approach Tibetans' suffering is our suffering. Fighting for Tibet with compassion against an ever increasing violent China. Every year, thousands flee Tibet. Those able to survive the dangerous journey over the Himalaya Mountains first make their way to Dharamsala, India, where their spiritual leader, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, lives in exile. It is here, that the seat of the Tibetan Government in Exile has been established. Today, there are approximately 200,000 Tibetans living in exile worldwide (in 40 countries) while another 6,000,000 still struggle against oppression in their homeland; illegally occupied by China. Thousands have ‘disappeared’ and thousands more remain in prisons or forced labor camps. The situation in Tibet is worsening as the Chinese Government continues to ravage Tibet by torturing, killing and denying Tibetans their basic human rights, as well as destroying the environment. Tibet’s culture, natural resources, wildlife and fragile ecosystem are facing extinction due to over 50 years of mismanagement and abuse under the People’s Republic of China. Rich in the arts, Tibetan culture is one of the most ancient cultures on this planet. In our tumultuous world, much can be learned from the gentle and peaceful Tibetans; their Buddhist philosophy exemplifies, most importantly~kindness and compassion. Since it is vital that the world does not allow this unique and precious culture to perish, ALL NATIONS must STAND UNITED for a FREE TIBET…until the Tibetans have freedom in their own country, genuine autonomy. We are a middle way and information group: we encourage everyone to learn about Tibet, to write letters, to sign petitions, to truly get involved, to boycott *made in China* products and to support the Tibetans inside and outside Tibet. We are not a group climbing buildings and so forth: --we are more the ones doing work in the background..such as making sure Tibets message gets heard in front of the European Parliament. We also go to places where help is needed (Tibetans in Turkeij for instance) and help financially whereever we can.
Question: * Why did you chose the name UNITED NATIONS FOR A FREE TIBET*? Answer: The name *United Nations for a free Tibet* was chosen for several reasons: 1. to challenge the United Nations for Tibet: the UN NEVER has done and still is not doing anything at all, for Tibet or Tibetans. We wanted to push the Tibet issue under their nose, right there and then, with their name. 2. to become the REAL *United Nations*> right now over 200 different nationalities have *liked* the UNFFT main page and support us in many ways. 3. *for a Free Tibet*: that the Tibetans inside Tibet have genuine autonomy, with their own culture, education, genuine international recognition, their own land, local Government... Freedom for Tibetans INSIDE Tibet, to live the way they were used to, to be able to invite HH the Dalai Lama back to Tibet, to study outside Tibet, simply: to be a free nation inside Tibet.. Genuine Autonomy and the Central Tibetan Administration, HH the Dalai Lama and the Middle Way is what we are supporting. *************************************** United Nations for a Free Tibet (UNFFT) © works to raise awareness for gross human rights violations committed against Tibetans in their homeland by the Communist Chinese Army which has occupied Tibet for more that 60 years. Our mission is to educate the public and to advocate for an end to the oppression and atrocities brought by the brutal Communist Chinese occupation. Goals: 1. To support Tibetans, both in exile communities worldwide and within Tibet, in their struggle for freedom and human rights. 2. To help put an end to ecocide and genocide in Tibet. 3. To campaign for the release of all political prisoners. 4. To help promote and preserve the endangered Tibetan culture. 5, To help financially Tibetans who are in urgent need special assistance. (bailing out from jails etc) 6. Support financially Tibetan children and young adults with their studies 7. support and promote Tibetans in Exile who want to set up a genuine, well thought out, business, with the wish to bring more security to the Tibetans (re income and self esteem). 8. to share messages by HH the Dalai Lama, Press Releases by the CTA under leadership of Dr Lobsang Sangay (Sikyong) and posts by the Karmapa to make more people aware of those. The UNFFT is a peaceful, compassionate, honest and non-violent organization, with no wish to do anything that could harm another living being. We therefore shall always work towards an intelligent solution to the dire situation of an occupied Tibet by the Chinese Communist Regime by getting world medias and Governments involved. World-Peace and Freedom are our goals. Tibet's future can be peacefully changed into a free future for all. The Government of Tibet is a dynamic and very well organized, honest organization and we support the CTA, HH the Dalai lama and the Middle way with a pure conscience and trust this is the best way to go forward for Tibet ==from the NYT: *Tibet Sikyong, Dr. Lobsang Sangay, is a man of great integrity, class, intelligence and strength: all attributes of a real STATESMAN ...which he is rapidly becoming*. --
