The US Marshal Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma is a civilian non-profit corporation dedicated to honoring the United States Marshal Service. The United States Marshal Service is the oldest law enforcement agency in the United States. The first 13 US Marshals were appointed by the, then current, President George Washington in 1789. The US Marshal was the only law enforcement officer in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories besides the Tribal Police Agencies prior to the organization of Oklahoma as a Territory and later as the 46th State in the Union. The US Marshal Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma dedicated to the memory and honor of what the US Marshal Service has and still means to the State Of Oklahoma. We, as Posse members are proud of the support shown for us by the US Marshal Service and US Marshal Charles Weeks, who is currently serving as the 22rd US Marshal of the Western District of Oklahoma. The dedication and sacrifice of the brave individuals of the Marshal Service in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories is unmatched in any other part of the world. More U S Marshals and their Deputies have lost their lives in the enforcement of the law in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories than in all other States or Territories of our nation combined. And we, as civilians, are proud to honor and denote the sacrifice made by these brave and heroic individuals; The United States Marshal Service.

On April 22, 1889, 50,000 people lined up at the Kansas State's Southern Border. At 12:00 Noon on April 22, 1889 a canon fired and a trumpet sounded that signaled the beginning of the largest "horse race" with the most participants of any "horse race" in recorded history. Come see the Posse and meet Marshal Weeks; the true personage of Oklahoma Law Enforcement history. Come join us in this celebration of Oklahoma History as we commemorate the "Opening of the Unassigned Lands" that we now know and love as the wonderful State of Oklahoma. This a pIC from the "2015 USMP Christmas Party". I wanted to share it again because I thought it was significant to note one person. From left to right. Chuck Midkiff, the one doing the "figurin' on the paper",Sam Chesnut, Jean Chesnut,Catherine Carter, and CWO 4 David Carter, USMC ret. Cheif Carter was an EOD specialist with the USMC and has served in many publicized, and many more "unpublicized" "AO's" (Areas of Operation). After his "active service" to our country with the USMC was finished he retired to Oklahonma and is now a Board Member of the United States Marshals Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma. HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED THAT IT SEEMS LIKE A "PATRIOT" NEVER REALLY RETIRES? WHEN THEY GET THROUGH SERVING THEIR NATION IN ONE FIELD, THEY FIND ANOTHER. WAY TO HONOR THEIR COUNTRY. CWO 4 DAVID CARTER; IT'S AN HONOR TO KNOW YOU. Oorah! Semper Fi Marine!!
LET'S RIDE!! December 5th
ONE OF WHOM WE HONOR! The man sitting on the horse is USMP Member Bill Ardies. The name may not be very familiar to you but you have sure heard of what he has done. Has anyone ever heard of "Con Air"? Well Bill Ardies, U.S. Deputy Marshal (Ret.) was one of the original pilots who established and flew the first flights of that program which is now the backbone of the U. S. Marshals Service's ability to move "high value prisoners" from one location, or facility, to another. Every, I mean EVERY high value/ high risk prisoner that has been dealt with in the federal judicial system has been the responsibility of the entity that Deputy Ardies created. Deputy Ardies and the other dedicated pilots of the program have flown members of the US Marshals Service into areas where they were actually under the threat of being shot out of the air as they arrived or left. To hear of some of these missions that he has flown for the Marshals Service is literally bone chilling. As Deputy Ardies relates some of his "war stories" to you he often sits and chuckles about threats and dangers they had to deal with while the actual outcome of the mission and the survival was still in question. If you have ever heard of someone who has "ice water in their veins" this is one of them. To hear how he and his crew sat in the cockpit of their plane as literally some of the worlds most desperate and infamous criminals and terrorist were placed aboard is riveting. To see and hear Deputy Ardies relate these historic events that he and his crew were so much a part of is an amazing event in itself. If you as Deputy Ardies, "Did you fear being shot out of the sky, or targeted for assassination?' He'll just answer, "Well, that's just what we did." "What we did!" "What we did!!!" That's not just "What we did" that's heroism, that's patriotism, that's the character that has made America the EXCEPTIONAL nation that it is, no matter what anybody says. And that, my friend, is what makes the United States Marshals Service what it is today. And you know what? Deputy Ardies is just one example of the dedication and, if you will, the men an women who have "ice water in their veins" that serve in the United States Marshals Service. The events that Deputy Ardies relates to us when we ask him about his adventures are not just "history". They are still occurring every single day as the United States Marshals Service continues to protect America and her citizens. The next time you see the United States Marshals Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma appearing at an event look for the slender white haired man on the big Paint horse. You will be looking at a very big part of the history of law enforcement in the United States. You'll be looking at United States Deputy Marshal (Ret.) Bill Ardies. "ONE OF WHOM WE HONOR" (Contact e-mail: email@example.com)
LOVE HISTORY? LOVE HORSES? It sounds like you may be Posse material. The United States Marshals Posse is a group of individuals that love our country and its history. And of course there is no way you can study or comprehensively read about the history of the United States without involving the United States Marshals Service. The U.S. Marshal was commissioned by President George Washington and is the oldest law enforcement agency in the United States. It is only natural for Oklahomans to honor the USMS due to the fact that more U.S. Marshals have been killed enforcing the law in Oklahoma than all other jurisdictions of the U S Marshals Service combined, yes combined. The U. S. Marshals Posse has been authorized by the U. S. Marshals Service as a civilian unit to honor the selfless service of the Marshals Service. The Posse has appeared in functions throughout the United States to represent and honor the USMS. If this interests you and if you think you would enjoy the company of likeminded individuals who love horses and history. Then you might be Posse material. NOW IS THE TIME TO CHECK IT OUT AND HAVE TIME TO GET YOUR APPLICATION PROCESSED BEFORE THE 2016 ACTIVITIES GET STARTED! CONTACT US AT firstname.lastname@example.org
