United Way V.I.P. explores the inner-workings of nonprofit boards including board roles and responsibilities, legal and fiduciary obligations, ethics, fundraising, marketing, team building and community building. For the participant, United Way V.I.P. expands and enhances leadership and management skills particularly in the nonprofit sector. The program also enhances the effectiveness of Atlanta’s nonprofit organizations by broadening their understanding of the diverse needs of their clients and providing professional expertise from accountants, attorneys, information technology consultants, marketing professionals and others. Created in 1992, more than 1,200 individuals have graduated from the program.
