To provide and promote education, research, extension and service in the animal, veterinary, and microbiological sciences.
The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences (SACBS) brings together teaching, research and extension resources to focus on animal health, growth, nutrition and disease, and human health challenges facing Arizona and the global community. Collaboration between animal scientists, veterinarians, microbiologists and others offers the strongest possible programs in research, education and outreach. Our purpose is to provide and promote education, research, extension and service in the animal, veterinary, and microbiological sciences. As well as to provide support and leadership in Arizona in the areas of biomedical sciences in the areas of animal health and disease and to integrate these objectives with the broader goal of improving human health. Our interdisciplinary programs prepare students for careers in animal sciences, veterinary science, microbiology, food safety, integrated biomedicine and bioinformatics.
