www.exeterguild.com/vote We are your Students' Union - we just have a different name. When you become a student of the University of Exeter, you automatically become a member of the Students’ Guild, which means you have a say in what happens here. The Guild is affiliated to the National Union of Students (NUS), which will give you a voice nationally on student-related issues. The Guild is a democratic organisation. This means that everyone has an equal say in what we do. Every year, four students are voted in as representatives (sabbatical officers) who are your voice to the University and wider community. The officers are scrutinised by various committees, to make sure they are doing their job. They are supported by a forum of elected volunteers who represent student-related problems. Whatever your interest, you’ll be able to find the perfect society for you. And if you can’t, you can set up your own. Over 7,000 students join a society each year and there are over 190 of them. You can join one or two, or as many as you like- it’s up to you. The Students’ Guild has several services available to support or advise you, if you need it. Whether you need someone to talk to, help with accommodation or if you have a problem with your course, there is always someone who can help you. The Advice Unit (Forum, Level 2) is your first port of call for free, confidential advice on a range of issues, including housing, finance and academic-related problems. We also have Voice, a free confidential listening and information service; run by students, for students. Please visit our website for more information or to get in touch with someone.
