Description
The UWCRT is a group of dedicated student volunteers who provide first aid at a wide variety of campus events. UWCRT is a Federation of Students (FEDS) service at the University of Waterloo. During campus events we respond to medical emergencies, providing first aid between the time of the incident and the arrival of professional medical assistance. CRT members work in three-rescuer teams at campus events, and all members are certified to a minimum of Standard First Aid and CPR-HCP. We train constantly to refresh and improve our skills. We are also equipped with a large variety of first aid supplies to ensure safe and efficient treatment. UWCRT is also a member of the Association of Campus Emergency Response Teams (ACERT). 1. To enable students to improve their health, safety and quality of life by providing training and community service. 2. To increase the safety at specific events and across the campus as a whole by providing volunteers who are trained in first aid and CPR, and who are equipped with medical supplies. 3. To increase awareness of health and safety issues across campus.
