Summer may seem like a while away, but IT'S TIME TO START THINKING ABOUT ARCHAEOLOGICAL FIELD SCHOOLS for the 2016 season. Fortunately, the UNO Ancient Med Program is associated with not one, not two, but THREE different field schools that will operating this summer. (Or rather, your director knows 3 people running such programs.) I can hook you up with the dig-drug of your choice. :-) Over the next week, I'll be posting links to the website adverts (or other info) for these four schools, and I'll invite each of these directors to pop in here and comment about their digs, what this summer season will be focusing on, etc. If financially possible, going on a dig is a WONDERFUL experience for anybody interested in the ancient world, whether or not you intend to go on to grad school, but especially if you are already in grad school. And it will certainly count towards AMS credit, either as a UNO/UNL class, or as a summer internship. We'll find a way to work it out.
