Description

The UoB Trading Floor Society was founded in 2015 by a group of students keen to share their passion for trading and the financial world. The key focus of our society is split across three pillars. Firstly we are providing a trading platform where students can trade on the US equity market in real time with a virtual $1,000,000. This allows students to trade competitively as there is a leaderboard comparing their earning against their peers. Secondly, the society will allow students to network with like-minded and driven individuals who are also looking to realise their potential and career ambitions in the areas of investment and finance. The society also aims to allow the winners of the trading game to have their CV forwarded to any future sponsors which will include bulge-bracket banks, trading houses and other financial institutions. Finally, this society has been set up to allow all students: those who avidly trade to beginners who wish to delve into the market, to come together to share ideas and their passion. This society will also help beginners educate themselves on the financial market through learning materials, daily tips of the market, as well as talks from current traders across the globe. Therefore, this is a platform for students from all nationalities, genders and courses to join and share their passion; educate themselves on trading and investing; enhance their career prospects within the financial world as well as having fun whilst doing so.
