The TRIO or the TRIO SSS program is a free service for students who meet certain criteria and want to graduate from UT as effortlessly as possible.

Description

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is one of the oldest retention programs at The University of Toledo. Since 2001, it has been exclusively dedicated to students who are the most academically and socially vulnerable for attrition. SSS aids students in achieving their college and career goals by fostering strong independent learners and by understanding their unique needs. Services provided by SSS include overall support, social events, advising, tutoring, mentoring, and career counseling, as well as helping students to utilize existing university services and complete financial aid forms. Students enrolled in TRIO programs across the country are more likely to return each year, have higher good academic standing rates, and complete their degrees on time more often than students who qualify for Student Support Services but do not enroll. Our goal is to keep students in college, increase the number that graduate, and provide an environment that encourages excellence, supports success and fosters involvement.
