Email from another happy international patient: Greetings from Dominica, Dear Dr. Pittman, Happy New Year to you, and wishing you the very best for this year 2015, filled with God's blessings, love, joy, peace, good health....! Thank you for the outstanding care that I received during my treatment at Vein911. You and your staff are truly amazing. I still feel a bit sore but I know that this will go away in time. I am still taking the Ibuprofen tablets. For the first time in years, I had a pain free period - no painful bulging veins at the back of my thighs. It really felt good to not be experiencing that type of pain. Thank you so very much for everything. I'll keep in touch with you to let you know of my progress. Best Regards, D. Joseph
What is the Best Way to Treat Varicose Veins? There are only 3 ways to treat varicose veins: surgery, thermal ablation using laser or radiofrequency, and ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy. Almost everyone receives thermal ablation these days but this only treats a large straight vein. Almost every patient needs an additional "ancillary" procedure to properly treat branch veins that feed into varicose veins. Which ancillary procedure is better, surgery or ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy? Surgery of visible varicose veins is pleasantly termed "microphlebectomy" or "ambulatory phlebectomy" but it is, in fact, surgery and can leave scars, lead to nerve or lymphatic injury, but worse than that, surgery simply does not eliminate all varicose veins leading to recurrences and dissatisfied patients months or years after treatment. VEIN911 sees these previously treated patients daily because we specialize in previously treated or difficult to treat patients who others cannot help. Removing surface varicose veins with surgery is like removing the "tip of the iceberg" leaving 90% of problem veins hiding under the skin. These veins are only visible with ultrasound and only ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy can completely eliminate your varicose veins. Ultrasound has revolutionized vein care by localizing vein problems and allowing targeted treatment without surgery. Make sure your practitioner is an ultrasound expert. Minimally-invasive vascular procedures define modern health care and these minimally-invasive procedures were developed by interventional radiologists. Some surgeons have adopted these techniques but many still persist using surgical procedures when they are not comfortable using the latest non-surgical techniques. There is no role for surgery in vein care! Modern vein treatment is not a surgical disease and seeing a surgeon or “vascular” surgeon is no guarantee you will receive state of the art vein care. In fact, modern vein treatments were pioneered by non-surgeons. Want to get rid of all your varicose veins without surgery? Make sure your vein care practitioner is an expert using ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy.
It's fun helping our patients feel and look their best. Many say their vein treatment experience is life changing. Getting your school girl legs back is possible. Believe!
