What a great field trip to The Royal Canadian Mint today!
Max is a 6 year old boy, who is full of energy. He plays hockey, piano, does swimming lessons, and participates in his new school’s Robotics and Math-n-Chess Clubs. Like many other kids whose families live and work internationally, Max has lived in different countries and has attended 3 or 4 schools before coming to VINCI School, a school with a very high academic standard that goes beyond traditional learning. His parents quickly noticed that for the fi rst time ever, Max was really motivated to go to school. He started to eagerly discuss what he was learning at school and now understands that school is a place for learning. Lots of exciting things are going on in his Grade 1 class. As part of an exploration on inventions and engineering design the students in Max’s class were tasked with inventing a machine that would enable them to survive on an alien planet. The very creative Max planned and built a device for transportation on the alien terrain. As Max’s school is the only one within Canada’s capital region to closely follow American Common Core standards; supplemented by Singapore Math practices, and online math and literacy programs from Stanford University’s EPGY program, his parents are very confi dent that no matter where they go afterwards, Max will be well above his grade level. Beyond academics, Max is enjoying a family-like atmosphere at his school with small size classes that allow individual attention and development of his personality. Challenging traditional private education, VINCI School has embraced proven elements from some of the best international teaching practices (Montessori & Reggio Emilia) and blended them to create the perfect learning pedagogy; bringing a world of opportunities to its students so that they excel in both school and life.
