Our team performs historical restoration and preservation, building to traditional and time-proven standards of workmanship and material quality. We are specialists in traditional materials. We offer consulting, especially in troubleshooting issues that arise with old buildings, often due to incompatible, modern materials, or moisture issues. With this education in what worked and what didn't, our new construction mirrors the quality and detail of a different era. Through tenons as an example: quality construction is prevalent in our new work. When we walk away from a project, the line between what we did and the original is hard to discern. We thoroughly enjoy doing top to bottom renovation, re-creating spaces that feel right, with thought to size, color, and furnishings. The best projects allow us to start over; when clients throw us the keys. I love what I do, and our team shares this passion. We have a workshop in Winchester, VA, specializing in architectural millwork, cabinetry, and windows. We have architectural contacts in Italy, England, Scotland, as well as technical support. We accept furniture and millwork commissions. We take special care with antique restoration, treating fine antiques conservatively; performing honest restoration. We particularly enjoy complex projects, and troubleshooting, and will consider travel. We will travel from North America to the EU, in a west to east direction, or east to west.
