Volunteers For Peace offers over 3,000 voluntary service opportunities in more than 90 countries through our global network of non-profit organizations. Volunteers For Peace, founded in 1982, is a Vermont non-profit organization that offers opportunities to volunteer abroad in over 3,000 projects in more than 90 countries worldwide including the USA. Each year we provide nearly 1,000 volunteers with invaluable opportunities to strengthen their ability to communicate in diverse groups, explore grassroots leadership opportunities, and build cultural understanding and connections around the world. VFP offers short-term projects and individual service adventures for adults, teens, seniors, families and groups. All projects arise from a grassroots, community based need. Volunteers should be prepared to work about 5 hours a day and self-select the type of work that interests them. Work ranges from environmental to teaching English, building schools to preserving historical sites, assisting with festivals to agriculture, and so much more. • Short-Term Projects (Also known as Workcamps) where volunteers from 4 or more countries come together for 2-3 week service project. • Individual Service Adventures & Gap Year Projects (Also known as Medium Term or Permanent Projects) involve working with VFP to create a personalized 2-week to 1-year service and learning adventure. We are happy to work with university, community, family or other groups to create a customized project for you! VFP's placement fee is always $500 ($650 if you are under 18 years old) and must be paid at the time of registration. (If we can’t place you we refund the full fee!) Your registration covers placement, food, accommodation and work materials for your program. Volunteers arrange and pay for their own transportation to and from the project. Projects taking place in the developing world often require an additional fee in the range of $50-$500 payable to our partners upon arrival.

Volunteers For Peace (VFP) is a non-profit organization offering over 3,000 voluntary service opportunities in more than 90 countries. VFP organizes, promotes, and supports international voluntary service as an effective means of intercultural education, service learning, and community development. VFP provides opportunities for volunteers to develop leadership skills and global connections while making a difference at a grassroots level. Check out our website for more information www.vfp.org. We offer projects in duration of 2-3 weeks up to 2-3 months, all for a same registration fee of only $500. All housing, meals, project leadership and materials are taken care of and the volunteer is responsible for their own airfare. We will also customize group opportunities if there are school groups or community groups interested in volunteering together. We offer projects with our local non-profit partner organizations in Nepal, Vietnam, Haiti, Ecuador, Iceland, Thailand, Korea, India, France, Germany, Russia, Indonesia, and many more. Volunteers For Peace promotes International Voluntary Service as an effective means of intercultural education, service learning and community development. We provide projects where people from diverse backgrounds can work together to help overcome the need, violence and environmental challenges facing our planet. Our projects are truly a microcosm of a world where nations join together to improve life on our planet. They are a practical way to both prevent and resolve conflict. By participating in a voluntary service project, volunteers help sow the seeds of a better future for us all.
