Wakefield Skillcentre Ltd is privately owned industrial skills training provider, originally part of the governments Skillcentre network, until sold off to private companies in the 1990's. Astra Training purchased Wakefield, Leeds and Bradford Skillcentre which was then sold to CAPTIB Plc in Pudsey, Leeds. Leeds and Bradford was then merged into Bradford Skillcentre then merged again to one training location in Wakefield. In 2003 the current directors purchased Wakefield Skillcentre from CAPITB Plc by a management buyout. Wakefield Skillcentre Ltd has 2 separate building on Monckton Road Industrial Estate, Wakefield, West Yorkshire which consists of 5 industrial units. Our units 17-18 provide; •Domestic Gas Training •Plumbing •Train the Trainer •Health & Safety training •Quiet classrooms and conference facilities, which are available for hire during opening hours only. Our units 41-43 is the registered office, which provide more of the industrial training such as: •Welding •Fork Lift Truck Training •Domestic Gas Assessment •Engineering •Practical Electrical courses We provide Training & Assessment for industrial and commercial clients from a wide range of market sectors. Our core training programmes are available as scheduled open courses, providing a cost-effective solution to clients only able to release trainees as individuals or in small groups. We are proud of our flexible approach and are happy to provide customer specific training programmes at our Wakefield training centre or at client premises throughout the UK. Our objective is to provide a professional training environment to cater for multiple sectors.
