Welcome Back! The library is now open in the morning before school at 7:50 a.m. Stop by and see Mrs. Wood for a "Golden Pass". It's good for the whole year! You can study, work on projects, read, or play board games. It's the place to be in the mornings.
Tech Friday @ the Library (January 23) If you've received a new smartphone, tablet, or some other electronic device, stop by the library this Friday before school or during Advisory period to get it set up to use the Northside Digital Library. You'll be connected to thousands of eBooks, audio books, music, and movies right at your fingertips.
Library Palooza, the teen author festival sponsored by NISD Libraries is just around the corner. Admission is FREE! The event will be held on Saturday, February 21st at Brandeis High School. The doors open at 9 a.m. The author panel begins in the auditorium at 10:00 a.m. followed by a day of breakout sessions in which folks can visit with individual authors. This year's author lineup includes James Dashner, Carl Deuker, Laura Lee Gulledge, D.J. MacHale, Mary Pearson, Jenny Han, and Siobhan Vivian. Don't miss the Scholastic Book Fair coming to the Jefferson Library the week of November 10th. The fair is open from 8 -4 Monday through Thursday and 8 - noon on Friday. Get a jump on that holiday shopping by buying books for everyone on your list.
What a great couple of weeks at the library. We've had all our new 6th graders in for orientation through their ELA classes and they are excited about reading! The 7th graders have been exercising their creative minds and writing some beautiful 6-Word Memoirs.
