Welcome House is a SOBER, LIVING, RECOVERY, PROGRAM. Welcome House was founded in 1971 with the sole purpose of educating and rehabilitating the adult male alcoholic/addict with the expressed mission of returning the individual to productive society free of alcohol and dug abuse. Since its inception, Welcome House has served countless thousands of adult males area-wide. The Welcome House program of recovery is based upon the Alcoholics Anonymous 12-step program. Each individual lives at Welcome House and is required to seek and maintain employment. A weekly rent is paid by the client to help cover room board and educational expenses. Emphasis on continuing education fosters an attitude of responsibility and accountability. These programs offer spiritual support and emotional growth through guidance, fellowship and participation in AA programs in the community. Welcome House is solely dependant financially on contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. No funds are provided by any government entity, therefore the program is not a taxpayer burden. Much of the financial support comes through fund-raising events, in the community throughtout the year. 100% of all tax-deductible contributions go directly to the administration and operation of Welcome House projects and programs.
