The most important mission of our program is to keep our kids off the streets and out of trouble. We prioritize relationship building within our community. Winning is not the goal; the goal is to enhance our lifestyles – to grow together as a community built on healthy relationships and positive energy. On a weekly basis, we demonstrate how people pulling in the same direction can do more than a man or woman alone. This program connects players with positive role models from the community; we’ve worked closely with the Worcester Police Department and embrace interaction and support from the public. When it comes to practice, our players come together in fellowship. Every single meeting, we pray together, play together, and win or lose together. The congregation is strengthened in community and in future leadership by sharing these common goals. Our program builds a team, promotes community building and future leadership, and encourages exercise and healthy living. Last years’ success, proved that kids can work together to foster teamwork between present and future generations. We use these skills to support the Wesley United Methodist Church and promote youth programs that nurture more of this learning. Our team is made up of multicultural youths, both male and female, Ghanaian, Nigerian, Liberian, Jamaican, Hispanic, and Caucasian. The youth eager to play competitive, vigorous sports ranging in ages from 9-15 years of age. Economically, the team has players who predominantly come from the middle and low income brackets.

For more information or to contact BFC to request a Binkeez blanket, please go to our website http://www.binkeezforcomfort.org STORY OF COMFORT Sue and her mother, Lynne, have been making blankets for many years. Creativity, imagination and innovation have always been an integral part of the spirit in making these blankets. This spirit also contains the memory of Lynne’s mother, and Susan’s grandmother, who started this family tradition as being a seamstress during WWII and throughout her life. Babies and children are also an integral part of the spirit in making these blankets. Aside from the memories of Lynne’s own children snuggling with their blankets at bedtime, naptime and when traveling, blankets have always conveyed a universal language of comfort. Over the years they used to personally donate these blankets to those who have not been given the gift of good health to impoverished children, NICUs, and children’s charitable foundations. Several years later, Susan decided to continue a new tradition with Binkeez in the formal process of converting to a 501c3 non-profit to bring comfort to others that have not been given the gift of good health by designing and donating blankets for all ages of life that were in need of comfort when in patient in a hospital, nursing home or hospice setting through this non profit.
