Simply put, children learn best by doing – by exploring, playing and being “hands-on” learners. The curriculum at West County Day School is built for your enthusiastic child. We’re not only educators but we’re parents too. We know first-hand how much you want to stay connected with your child and what they are learning. Together, we chart a course for your child with an on-going dialogue to share ideas and progress. In short, you’ll be constantly informed about the development and progress of your child. Keeping children safe during their day at West County Day School is of utmost importance. Our teachers establish guidelines in the classroom to involve children in a world of exploration, and for keeping them safe during that exploration.

General Info

*Infants* Nurturing, with focus on the individual needs of infants, our loving teachers partner with parents as they incorporate baby sign language, stories and songs. *Toddlers* A time of early independence and language development, our toddler curriculum is full of exploration and discovery. *Early Learners* We don’t believe in the “terrible twos”! Our lively and interactive program engages your child in social development and fosters a love of learning. *Unique Transitional Classroom* Often times, children who are the youngest in the classroom are not quite ready to move up. Our unique program is for 12 month – 18 month year olds and 18 – 24 month olds making the transition to the 2 year old class as smooth as possible. *Preschool* From art to music to fitness, every activity encourages children to become self-confident and enthusiastic learners, as they embrace their environment while exploring in our classroom Discovery areas. *Pre-Kindergarten* We’ve earned a stellar reputation for outstanding Kindergarten readiness focusing on language, math, phonics and classroom environment skills. *Before & After School* We offer extended before and after school care from 6:30 am – 6:30 pm and provide free transportation to and from neighborhood schools.
