General Info

When was the COH Started? The idea of an oral history program is not new to West Point, but it became a priority when COL Lance Betros, former Professor and Head of the Department of History at West Point, assumed leadership in 2005. With the help of the Association of Graduates, he secured initial funding for the program and appointed senior faculty members to lead it on an interim basis until a dedicated director could be found. Todd Brewster, a veteran journalist with experience at Time and ABC News, is now the Center’s director, and LCDR Scott Granger (Ret.) is the Center's deputy director.
