Description
Where in the world, is a program that is rolling out at Building Blocks Academy for the 2014-2015 school year. The objective of the program is to provide a holistic approach to introducing social studies, culture and science. The class will utilize the months of the year to explore countries around the world. Utilizing the first letter of the month to match a country to the same letter is a way of incorporating letters in the curriculum. The countries we will study will also allow us to integrate all of the fundamental aspects of Early Childhood Education. This program will include dramatic expression and cultural role playing as well as exploring the food, weather and agriculture of each country we explore. Each student will be given passports that will act as a memoir from the years proverbial travel. The journals will also act as a communication forum between the teacher and parents as to what is being taught as well as ways in which the parents can reinforce the materials at home.
