Cecil Horwitz R.Ac, D.Ac, CH Known for his expertise in treating and enhancing fertility, preventing miscarriages, and treating a broad range of pregnancy-related issues, Cecil is an acupuncturist who helps women achieve their health goals at all stages of life. Although he specializes in women's health, with a specific concentration on fertility, conception, labour, menstruation, and postpartum-related health issues, he also treats men, and children of all ages. Thanks to the high success rate of acupuncture and acupressure treatments in aiding fertility and childbirth, Cecil loves to treat pregnancy from conception to labour and beyond. As a clinical supervisor at MacEwan University's student teaching clinic, he has taught classes and lectured in the following areas: miscarriage prevention, breech presentation, mastitis, and acupressure for labour pain. Cecil has completed postgraduate training in acupuncture obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive medicine under respected experts Jane Lyttleton and Bob Flaws. He has also received certification in obstetrical acupuncture and acupressure from noted field pioneer and expert Debra Betts, and completed training in shonishin pediatric acupuncture with Dr. Raven Lang. Cecil has spent some time studying with noted author and acupuncturist Jill Blakeway in New York. Jill has written one of the first books on integrating western and eastern medicine with regard to fertility and pregnancy health. His most recent exploit has been studying mind body medicine at the Benson Henry Institute at Harvard Medical school, in which he will receive certification in training in the field of Mind Body Medicine. Cecil is a certified Chinese Herbologist and is currently enrolled in postgraduate training to become a member of the American Board of Reproductive Medicine. Christina Pistotnik HHP, RAc, D.Ac Christina practises traditional Chinese medicine through acupuncture. She strongly believes in alternative medicine because it allows her to look at a person as a whole and to customize treatment to meet each person's needs. Christina graduated from MacEwan University from both acupuncture and holistic health programs. She is certified in reflexology and acupressure. To stay up to date with current practices, Christina pursues continuing education opportunities. She has taken specialized training in obstetrical acupuncture with noted specialist Debra Betts and received certification for facial acupuncture renewal under cosmetic specialist Mary Elizabeth Wakefield. Christina has completed studies in reproductive medicine under respected specialist Jane Lyttleton. Genevieve Boyer R.Ac Genevieve has been helping families to conceive and have healthy babies for over five years, and her fertility treatments are informed by the knowledge of several experts in the field of Oriental reproductive medicine. She has studied with Jane Lyttleton, who is recognized around the world for her expertise in Oriental medicine fertility treatments and Zita West, an acupuncturist, midwife and nutritionist who runs an integrative IVF clinic in England. She has also done coursework in using acupuncture to optimize ovarian reserve and enhance the success of IVF treatments with Brandon Horn and Wendy Yu, who hold graduate degrees in Traditional Oriental Medicine, and with Peter Deadman in relation to male reproductive health. Genevieve loves working with children—she actually writes stories and poems for children in her spare time and has had the opportunity to share some of her unpublished stories with grade one classrooms. She has done training in Shonishin (a form of Oriental therapy for children that doesn’t require the use of needles) and pediatric acupuncture with Raven Lang. Kate Tilley, RYT-200, RPYT Before discovering yoga and holistic healing, Kate was a Counsellor and Support Worker working with women and children fleeing domestic violence. Although she has left this work, she continues to pursue her two passions - helping others and aiding the body through holistic approaches to healing. The many skills she learned through being a counsellor and working in crisis has carried forward into her teachings of connecting the body, the breath and the mind. Through Yoga Kate has discovered what it means to be present, to trust in the unknown and to connect with the breath to help calm the mind. Her philosophy is that through the true connection with the whole body we are able to foster the power within us to help aid the body in its healing journey. Kate has been practicing yoga since 2003 and is certified with the Yoga Alliance in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Pre-natal / Post Natal Yoga. With a strong interest in linking women’s health and yoga, Kate’s interest lies in aiding fertility, preparing women for birth and helping to support the recovery process after delivery.
