Both massages can be incorporated into a treatment, a popular treatment is a full body Swedish massage with deep tissue work on the back. About In 2012 I graduated from Hartpury College with a B.Sc in Equine Science tailored around equine therapy. My career choice was always Equine Sports Massage until I found a passion in human massage! A prerequisite to train with Mary Bromiley studying Equine Sports Massage is an ITEC qualification in human massage. In 2013 I trained at the Cotswold academy in Cirencester. Qualifying in an ITEC level 3 diploma in Human Anatomy, Physiology and Holisitc Massage. I further when on to qualify in Deep Tissue Trigger Point massage. It's here I developed a passion and real interest in human anatomy and massage. I hope to start studying with Mary this September and become Equine Sports Massage qualified by summer 2015. The long term goal for me is to become qualified in both human and equine sports massage and return to the Cotswold Academy to complete the Human Sports Massage course. What to expect. Holistic massage is no less important than deep tissue or sports massage. Holisitc massage is very similar to Swedish massage however it incorporates the body as a whole, taking into account both physical and mental well being. Holistic massage rebalances the body, helping to restore important bodily systems. Such as lymphatic flow, blood circulation and digestive peristalsis. At the same time reduces stress levels and tension, helping with problems such a high blood pressure, tension headaches and insomnia. Deep tissue massage is less of a relaxation massage and focuses on problem areas, areas with a lot of adhesions and muscle tension. This massage is designed to help with sore muscle, repetitive strain injuries, increase muscle mobility and aid posture. Postural assessment and assessment of muscle mobility is part of this treatment. Trigger point massage works by locating adhesions and applying a firm pressure to the area. The pressure will be uncomfortable but not painful. This massage requires therapist/ client communication. You will be asked to let me know when a pressure of 3 on a 1-5 scale is achieved. Prior to either massages a personal health consultation form will be completed and from there a unique individual massage will be tailored to your needs.
