Ultrasound Scanning Ultrasound is very high frequency sound waves, well above the perception of the human ear so your baby will not be aware of the scan in any way. 3D and 4D ultrasound uses exactly the same technology as hospital 2D ultrasound scanning. 2D ultrasound gives imaging in 2 dimensions and is used in diagnostic examinations. We are privileged to be able to offer you and your family an amazing and realistic first look at your baby with a unique Window to the Womb 3D/4D Ultrasound Baby Bonding Scan. Whilst just as safe as the traditional 2D scan that you will have at your hospital, a 3D/4D/HD ultrasound scan can help you get up close and personal with your unborn baby in a way that you never thought possible thanks to the combination of our years of experience, our trained team and our amazing equipment. From a yawn to a stretch, your 2D/3D/4D/HD ultrasound session can give you a realistic first introduction to your baby in their protected world! 3D ultrasound gives images in 3-dimensions, in other words still pictures 4D ultrasound gives imaging in the fourth dimension, giving us real-time movement of your baby in the womb. HD ultrasound – The latest technology available in selected studios. Our Scanning Machines Our ultrasound scanner is basically a very powerful computer. It’s processor interprets the reflected high frequency sound waves into 3D pictures and adds the fourth-dimension to give us real time moving images. HD is High Definition. Safety We take the safety of you and your baby very seriously and have adopted the A.L.A.R.A (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) protocol when scanning. In simple terms this means that we have our scanners set at the lowest levels that will allow us to get great images for you. We also follow BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for non-diagnostic, bonding scans, which means we have lowered the output levels on our machines and do not scan before 16 weeks.
