Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers is Canada's oldest modern dance company and was founded in 1964 by Rachel Browne C.M. WCD is committed to the training and development of dancers, choreographers, teachers, technicians, designers and arts administrators. The Company has worked with scores of exceptional Canadian and international artists, establishing a reputation for presentation of dance of the highest quality. It has presented hundreds of performances of commissioned and remounted creations, for audiences across the country and abroad. WCD has had a significant impact on both the development and the standard of contemporary dance in Canada. Our current Artistic Director is Brent Lott.
