The Woman's Industrial Kitchen celebrates 130 years of fine home cooking. We are located at the historic Woman's Industrial Exchange at 333 N. Charles St. in Baltimore, MD 21201.
The Woman's Industrial Exchange opened 130 years ago to provide a forum for women to showcase and sell their domestic arts. It was a place where war widows went to make extra money to support their families by capitalizing on the talents that so many women have never been paid for. Since then the Exchange has been a place that galvanized our City around the central notion that the feminine arts are fabulous. Handcrafted objects have VALUE. People come to the Kitchen for an honest meal served by a feisty but motherly women. The food is a celebration of homecooking. The restaurant is also a living her-story museum. Each table is dedicated to a woman or group of woman with a connection to Maryland. Dine with Maryland notables such as Billie Holliday, Laura Lippman, Clara Barton or Harriet Tubman. The walls showcase women photographed by legendary Sun photojournalist Aubrey Bodine. The menu is dedicated to the personal women in our life who fed and nourished us.
