World of Medicine is an event hosted by UC Irvine School of Medicine that seeks to spark an interest in medicine through an immersive experience.

Description

Please join us as we take you around the world of medicine, and immerse you into the lives of medical students and doctors as we demonstrate and teach top procedures in each specialty, including: - Suturing - Hand knot tying - Ultrasound - Intubations - Simulations - History taking - Performing a physical exam - And more! The day will also include admissions preparation and information from the Office of Admissions to provide students accurate information on applying to medical school, a medical student panel for premed students to ask any questions they like, an interactive lunch hour where participants can speak with medical students and diversity groups, and hands-on clinical workshops with 10 different specialties of medicine. World of Medicine is designed to put YOU in the shoes of a physician and have medical students answer your questions every step of the way. This event will be capped at 150 participants. Registration will provide you a passport to World of Medicine, breakfast, lunch, light refreshments throughout the day, and a conference tote bag. Pre-medical students welcome from all colleges! WHEN: Saturday, February 24th, 2018 8:00am-4:30pm WHERE: UC Irvine School of Medicine's Medical Education Building, free parking available in Lot 83 with any valid UCI permit or with purchase of day pass from parking kiosk.
