Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the families and friends of Kayla Canedo and Brittany Feldman, who were members of our High Harbour Camp staff, and the families and friends of the others involved in the tragic accident last week. For anyone who hasn't heard and would like to attend, a joint funeral service will be held for Kayla and Brittany tomorrow, Tues., May 3 at 3 p.m. at North Point Community Church. The church is located at 4350 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30022. We invite you to share messages of support for the families and memories you might have of the girls on this page as a tribute to their service to the community and the YMCA.
How many are included in the family membership?
Kids had a great afternoon getting some pointers from Olympic gold medalists Rowdy Gaines ('84) and Cullen Jones (2012). Maritza Correia, Olympic silver medalist in 2004 also joined in the fun. Rowdy and Cullen took a few minutes to chat with Ambassador Andrew Young who also stopped by the Andrew and Walter Young Family YMCA. Thanks to USA Swimming Foundation for bringing the #MakeASplashAtlanta Tour to our Y and others in the city.

Tomorrow is the 15th annual Cheerios Challenge benefitting the Covington Family YMCA! Online registration is closed, but you can register onsite at the Y in the morning. If you can't make it to the race, you can still help by participating in the silent auction. Below is one of the cool items they have! Here's a quote from the Executive Director of the Y about how much the community support means. “We are extremely excited to be celebrating the 15th anniversary of The Cheerios Challenge,” said Louly Hay-Kapp, executive director of the Covington Family YMCA. “This event is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we are incredibly grateful to the community and all of our sponsors including General Mills for their ongoing support. Many families in our community will be able to participate in Y programs due to their generosity.”
Great things are being done by the Y's teens! Check out these photos from a recent trip some of our teens took to New Orleans to volunteer during their spring break. #nationalvolunteerweek

In honor of National Volunteer Week, we'd like to highlight and thank some of our volunteers from Equifax. They took time to read to some of the preschool kids at the Arthur M. Blank Family Youth YMCA. Thanks, Equifax!!
Meta helped me the other night with my membership. It was way past 7 o'clock and those at the membership desk had gone home. People like Meta really make me realize this isn't a gym, it's a community. Never got service like this at any other YMCA.
