From the local to the global YouthBank International exists to support the development of new YouthBanks and enhance the capacity of country-wide networks.

Description

YouthBank International is a gathering of people from many different countries, who believe that youth-led grant-making has a lot to offer to young people and to the world we live in. There are 5 things we are working on: Build YouthBank globally, connecting people, sharing experience and knowledge. Create a hub of information, resources and materials, using our website and social media. Make YouthBank more visible, giving young people a platform to express their views on issues that matter to them. Bring people together to understand how the YouthBank approach can be translated into local practice and influence local decision-makers. Partner with funders to provide opportunities, increase support and to spark new ideas and innovation throughout the YouthBank movement. Our belief is that it makes sense to put money into young people’s hands. Our vision is that in five years’ time we will have a thriving network that is forward and outward looking, providing a global platform for young people and a sustainable peer support structure. Our Values Golden Rules unite YouthBanks across the globe. They were created by young people when the YouthBank model was first developed over 10 years ago. Promoting the Golden Rules’ values is part of YouthBank International, but we also have an extra set of principles to guide the way we develop the network. Our overall intention is to lead an inclusive movement, respecting differences throughout the YouthBank network and the importance of staying connected, continually sharing, developing and learning together. What Now? Things are happening fast. The work behind the scenes is being carried out by two groups of people who have interest, passion and experience of the YouthBank initiative. There is an Executive Group responsible for the hands-on activities and an Advisory Board working on long term strategies. We want to hear from you. We want to have conversations with: Organisations that are interested in kick-starting local YouthBank networks. Supporters and investors who want to help us make our global vision a reality.
