Yves Lupitu was born on February 6th, 1982 in Kinshasa, located in Kongo. His mother was working in the fashion industry, his father was a politician. At the beginnings Lupitu was influenced by his grandmother, who was creating dresses for her friends. At the age of 12 he was able to gain his first experiences by creating a traditional african dress supported by his grandmother. The first steps were made in the right direction. Because of the fact that his father was a soccer-fanatic, Lupitu was forced to join the everyday soccer training. The consequence was that he lost the focus on his passion „Creating Fashion“. 14 Years later, at the age of 26, he realized that the only thing he wanted to do in the future is fashion, therefore he started his studies in Fashion Design in Paris 2006. He finished his studies 2009 and launched his own label in 2011, called „Yves Lupitu“. He started with only three T-shirts influenced by the avant-garde nature. His first store will open at the 2nd February in Düsseldorf. Therefore he designed his brand new collection „OBSESSED“.
