Description

The main goal of the Basic Construction Technology School (BCTS) is to create an opportunity for students to learn basic construction skills and how those skills can be used to transform communities. The practical skills will include: Project planning for new construction, cost analysis, basics in architecture, masonry, electricity, carpentry, roofing, and plumbing. The learning environment will be one of intense classroom sessions coupled with various field projects throughout the course of the school. YWAM San Diego/Baja has built more that 3,000 homes in the impoverished areas of Baja California, Mexico. This model has been replicated in over 15 other YWAM locations all over the world including Haiti, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic…and counting! During the school each student will be expected to participate in the building of homes and have the opportunity to pursue comprehensive instructions and training in order to bring Homes of Hope back to their nations. The BCTS is designed to offer exposure and training to the beginning builder and at the same time equip experienced builders with new knowledge and understanding of how their tools can transform communities all over the World.
