Description

Z Company is one of 6 Company's in the Hampshire & IOW Army Cadet Force. We are open to all young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who are in school year 8 or above. Our 8 detachments cover the areas of Andover, Basingstoke, Overton, Winchester, Middle Wallop, Romsey and Eastleigh and they all offer fun, friendship and adventure to young people (cadets) and adults (our instructors) like you. Our Headquarters is in Winchester, and its home to our staff team who usually meet at least once a week on a Monday evening. You can find out more about our detachments and what cadets do on our website. If you are over the age of 18, why not consider joining as an adult instructor? We are always looking for quality adult volunteers who wish to train as instructors. No military experience is needed, just a desire to work with young people and watch them go further in life. In 1860 Miss Octavia Hill wrote: "There is no organisation which I have found that influences the boys so powerfully for good as that of our cadets ... and if such ideals can be brought before the young lad before he gets in with a gang of loafers it may make all the difference to his life". That message remains true today, although it's no longer just for the boys. Today the Army Cadet Force (ACF) has over 41,000 male and female cadets in more than 1,600 detachments all over the country and is one of the biggest and best clubs around. When it comes to fun, friendship, action and adventure, it’s hard to find anything that beats the Army Cadets.
