Why choose Zenith Education? Our tutors are passionate about their subject and strive to make it interesting for learners. We do not follow a prescribed format for learning; all learning programmes are devised with input from the learner, their family and teachers where appropriate and with the tutor. This means that no two learning programmes are the same as every learner has different needs. We aim to meet those needs via supportive, positive relationships with tutors so that learning is a fun and rewarding experience. All tutors are fully qualified teachers with broad experience and are fully DBS (formally CRB) checked. Who are we? Following teaching in South Yorkshire for 5 years, working with children whose circumstances were, at times a barrier to their learning and with children who often had difficulty accessing the curriculum, Helen decided to pursue an MRes in Social Policy with a specific focus on Special Educational Needs Provision for children with dyslexia. She will continue this study at Doctoral level in September 2013. As a person with dyslexia, Helen understands the difficulties that some children face both as a result of this and due to other educational needs. She uses her own experiences of teaching and of developing creative strategies to enrich her own teaching and provide engaging, multi-sensory learning experiences for all of her students, regardless of their ability or age. Helen studied Mechanical Engineering with French at The University of Sheffield then completed a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages at Sheffield Hallam University. Her main experiences are in teaching secondary mathematics as well as French and Spanish. She also studied an MA in Education at the Open University before going to The University of Bath. Helen enjoys cycling, cinema and singing when not researching or teaching. During his PhD Andrew found a passion for working with children and getting them enthused about science. After a short break he moved to Bristol to work with ExplorerDome in Bristol where he got to go to schools all over the South West showing students how much fun science can be. In 2013 Andrew moved to the University of Bath to work in Widening Participation. The Widening Participation team are working with students who come from less privileged backgrounds raising their aspirations, attainment and in many cases their confidence.
