We are a rescue who specializes in finding forever homes for animals in need while ensuring the best fit for each one. We do a lot of SNRs/TNRs in our target communities and do our best to educate in regards to spaying/neutering and benefits of it.

Description

Local not for profit animal rescue. Our mission at Zoe’s Animal Rescue is to make positive changes in the lives of cats and dogs in need. We strive to save one animal at a time, acknowledging that “saving one animal will not change the world, but for that animal, the world will change forever.” The core of our mission is fulfilled through a unique four-pronged service approach in collaboration with our partner communities, see our website for detailed information.

General Info

Our mission to change the lives of animals in need by rescuing them from undesirable situations, providing loving foster homes, and any needed medical care (including mandatory spay and neuter). Our goal is to place the right animal with the right person to ensure a successful adoption. Please note: Though we try our best to respond back to urgent calls, requests for help, potential intakes and inquiries we are volunteer run and we sometimes miss things or are dealing with rescues or emergencies. Facebook page can have issues with not showing up notifications sometimes so I won't always see questions. It is best to send us a PM or email us at info@zoesanimalrescue.org. Here are some answers to common questions: 1. How do I adopt? Is this animal still available? You adopt by filling out an adoption application on our website www.zoesanimalrescue.org, if the website/facebook page says still accepting applications then there is a good chance the animal is still accepting applications. Please before applying read the bio to ensure that the animal you are interested in is a good fit for what you are looking for. Some of our fosters do require special stipulations to adoption such as another dog/cat, no kids, no pets. 2. What is your adoption process? How long does it take? Our adoption process can be found at: http://www.zoesanimalrescue.org/adopt/adoption-process/ As we are volunteer run if your application is liked by the foster and the animal is ready for meet and greets it can take up to 2 weeks. It just depends on how fast we hear back from references and a home check. You will only be contacted if the foster feels you would be a good match. 3. What are your policies to adopt? All dogs/cats in the household must be fixed. If they are too young to be fixed then a date has to be made to get that done by 6 months of age for the adoption to be finalized. Unless the animal can not be fixed due to a medical condition. We do not adopt out pets as outside pets. Cats must be indoor only unless on a harness/leash, in a cat enclosure or have cat fencing. Dogs can not be left outside if you are not home. 4. Will you take surrenders? Generally we don't always take surrenders as we usually have a list of animals we know who are in need of help. If we have an opening we might be able to. But we will try to offer advice first so that you can keep your pet. We would love for the pet to stay with the family who loves pet. 5. What does those titles mean? When an animal comes into care they are automatically put under a 2 week old but can still be put as accepting applications. Applications just won't be reviewed until closer to being ready for adoption so that we know their personality more. Application pending means that there is a good app in and a meet and greet is set. Adoption pending means that the animal has had a good meet and greet and is now on references/home check. On Hold means that the animal is on hold and not accepting applications at that time due to medical, behavioral or being too young. 6. Where are you located and can I meet this animal? We are located in Edmonton but we are a shelter less rescue. Almost all our fosters are in foster homes so the only way to meet them is to fill out an application. We do have some cats/kittens at our Rabbit Hill pet valu, Westmount pet valu and tail blazers south location. Kath and Sasha, who are our co directors, can get really busy what with rescue, full time job, family, and emergencies. If you are in need of contacting them for any reason please be patient and courteous. They deal with a lot every single day and some days can be extremely hard. Yesterday Kath had to deal with a lady on the phone yelling at her because she never returned her phone calls, while Kath had to deal with a incident where sadly two dogs had to be humanely euthanized which was extremely hard. She tried to explain that to the lady and it just made her worse. Then she called Sasha to be rude to her. Sadly this isn't the first incident where this has happened. Kath and Sasha try their best to contact people, especially when it's urgent but they also deal with a lot every day. So please have the common courtesy of being patient and maybe sending an email as a reminder.
