The Detroit Metro Area Alumnae Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha is a refreshing group of Zetas that meet together throughout the year to continue their involvement in the Fraternity. We are made up of new graduates, stay-at-home moms and career women, single and married women. Whether you want to make Zeta a part of your life once a year or once a month, we welcome all alumnae.

Detroit Metropolitan ZTA Alumnae Chapter Chapter Events and Programming Detroit Metro works to have a balanced calendar of service, social and fundraising events through the year. National Philanthropy Programming: We participate annually in ZTA national philanthropic breast cancer education and awareness programs including: -Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure -Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives -Detroit Lions Think Pink -Take Charge, Think Pink Local Philanthropy: Thanks to our members contacts and involvement with local organizations we have collected or donated items to several local organizations including: -HAVEN, Shelter for Domestic and Sexual Abuse in Pontiac -Welcome Inn Warming Center for Homeless, Oakland County -Ronald McDonald House at Detroit Children’s Hospital -Karmanos Cancer Institute Chemotherapy Library, Detroit. Social and Cultural Events: While from year to year we do offer a variety of social get-togethers, the one constant is that we always game to try something new. We welcome new ideas and can’t wait to hear yours! A partial list of social events is: -Girls Night Out- Dinners -Networking Gatherings -Young Alumnae Nights -Spa Night -Holiday Party -Spring Strawberry Social -Special Exhibitions at the Detroit Institute of Arts -Family trips to the Detroit Zoo -Pottery Tours -Fiesta of Friends -Bunko Nights -High Tea -Wine Tasting -Scrapbooking -Gardening -Financial Information meetings -Holiday Cookie Exchanges -Pool Parties Sisterhood Events: We encourage our members to attend Zeta Day, Convention, Panhellenic events and take on leadership roles as advisors or alumnae officers. Some sisterhood events our members attend or participate in are: -Founders Day Brunch -Founders Day Ceremony with Collegians -***Zeta Day Luncheons –(White Violet, Certificate of Merit and Senior Ceremonies) -Collegiate Recruitment & Philanthropy Support -Bi-annual Conventions -District Officer Training & Advisor Training -Panhellenic Luncheons ***Zeta Day is held in rotation around Michigan each year and hosted by the local alumnae. When Zeta Day is in our area, we serve on the planning committee and are hostesses for the event. Fundraising In addition to dues, we fundraise to supplement chapter expenses and support the ZTAF with the goal of minimally $300 per year. Additionally, we strive to cover Convention expenses for an official delegate, which run about $1000 bi-annually. We realize some members have very little extra time and have created “donation plus dues” options for those who want to support our philanthropy efforts though not able to participate in fundraising events. If you find yourself able to make a donation but not able to give time, please let us know! A list of Metro fundraisers includes: -Holiday Gift Wrapping at Borders or Barnes and Noble -Selling Entertainment Books -Santa Letters -Silent Auctions
