Welcome! My name's Catherine McAlpine aka Heidi (that's another story). I'm a volunteer crisis line phone operator with 5 years of talking to people behind me, and counsellor in private practise. I'm passionate about suicide prevention and sharing what I've learnt since 2011. Did you know more people die by suicide than by road accidents each year every day? That's an average of 8 per day. Did you know it's a myth that talking to someone could 'put the idea into their head'. Wrong. Did you know most people who die by suicide don't want to die - they just want to escape unbearable pain or rejection. What if we could ease that pain and help keep them safe.
