Freedom Road Dallas started on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012 at 11am. Volunteers laid the Red, White and Blue on the parade route in Dallas.
Veterans Day 2012 fell on a Sunday. Due to tradition, the Veterans Day Parade would naturally be held on the following Monday. Freedom Road was a project that came from a small hometown in Rhode Island for Army Major Andrew White. Major White had volunteers from American Veterans Restoration & Roofing along with country recording artist Danny Griego performing "Lady Liberty" Wounded Warriors in wheelchairs and with missing limbs assisted in putting down the Red, White and Blue as cameras and news organizations snapped photo after photo for the FRONT PAGE of the Dallas Morning News. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
