Description

ATFAT, the Military Arts Performance Initiative, is a unique 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is committed to the development and execution of Performing Arts programs for our service members. We provide services to all military service personnel both active duty, veterans and wounded service members by providing Arts therapy classes that are geared on restoring and improving the physical, psychological and neurological functioning of our wounded service members. At ATFAT we work very closely with those who have suffered War Related Illnesses and Injuries such as Combat Stress (CS), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Gulf War Syndrome (GWS). We utilize the Arts Program as another form of rehabilitation and therapy by encouraging our troops to get involved with all aspects of the stage production process which gives them a sense of accomplishment and rebuilds their confidence to re-enter the military or society. As a part of the Arts program, family members and friends are encouraged to come out to see the final stage production that these troops have worked so diligently in bringing to life. ATFAT focuses our efforts on inspiring service members and veterans through the use of the Arts. ATFAT is also dedicated to the advancement of the artistic and technical abilities of our service members. We provide the necessary training and performance spaces where our military men and women, can develop and fulfill their dreams of working or performing in Arts related fields. Our plan is to acquire or build State of the Art Performing Arts Training/Rehabilitation Centers throughout the United States. Each facility will afford our service members the opportunity to either gain the experience of performing in front of a live theater audience or working behind the scenes to gain invaluable hands on experience in one of the many integral jobs needed to put on a successful stage production. ATFAT develops partnerships with comedians, actors, musicians and entertainers of all types, who are willing to mentor, teach and train. ATFAT also partners with other nonprofits and sister organizations ensuring there are ample opportunities available for our service members to pursue and fulfill their dreams of working in the Arts.
