Burntzilla - Modern Eats is a full collaboration between The Burnt Truck and Dogzilla Hotdogs and we love Kings Hawaiian rolls!
The story of how Dogzilla and Burnt Truck joined together is that of all great love stories. Dogzilla was a new kid in town, touching down at their new commissary located in Irvine. Headstrong and confident, yet feeling alone in this whole new wonderous world of foodtrucks. And soon, another new truck would arrive on the scene. Ah, the Burnt Truck, with their delicious sliders and awesome A-team inspired truck. At first, they were parked at opposite ends of the commissary, yet it felt like they were worlds apart. The courtship began with the two trucks exchanging glances at one another, and soon after, a simple “Hello.” It was long before Dogzilla’s parking space was moved. Lo and behold, the Burnt Truck was now the truck next door. More pleasantries would be exchanged between the two. Both trucks noticed each other during prep days which had allowed the two to get to know each other better, as they were able to share their passions for food and the industry, as well as little known secrets, with each other. This would later develop into a routine of going out to dinner or grabbing some drinks every Monday night, where the relationship blossomed into something beautiful. The two trucks eventually began to share storage space together to cut the overhead for each respective truck. When the opportunity to move into a new larger storage space presented itself, the two trucks dove in head first. Yes, the trucks held each other down. If one truck ran out of supplies, they could count on the other to offer their own. Soda, bottled water, ramekins, King’s Hawaiian buns, you name it. They were the reliable bf/gf….?....significant other that would help you move your personal items to your new apartment. If event planners asked for suggestions for additional trucks, the two would immediately refer each other without thinking. Speaking of without thinking, they made a tradition of checking out Angels’ games for “team building” where they felt they had a good time, but they just could not remember for sure how everything went down. Nevertheless, getting past the morning’s hangovers and regrets, they would start each work day with a smile and pleased to see one another, and some would say overly pleased. In fact, others in the commissary would take to referring to the two trucks as “BurntZilla.” Customers would ask if the two trucks were one in the same. Both trucks would witness first-hand the growth and maturation of each other, but luckily they have never grown apart. And as with most relationships, they either part or move on to the next level. With the opening of BurntZilla in Irvine, Dogzilla and The Burnt Truck have decided to take the next step, together, in foodie bliss.
