Description
Throughout our 43 year history, over 2.7 million students, teachers and families have seen our productions. We regularly perform in schools across Ontario, and frequently tour to theatres in London, Toronto and Orangeville and festivals in Ottawa, Vancouver, Winnipeg, and Calgary. Our award-winning plays have toured as far away as England and Japan. The name for the company is inspired by one of Canada’s oldest carousels in nearby Port Dalhousie where you can still take a ride for just a nickel. Carousel Players tours to schools throughout Ontario and operates out of the second floor of Sliver Spire Church in St. Catharines. Carousel previous resided at the Old Courthouse for 16 years. Carousel Players is a professional theatre company committed to producing plays that entertain, challenge and inspire creativity in young audiences. We tour our work into schools, theatres and other venues in order to stimulate the imagination of all children, regardless of their socio-economic status. We develop new works with professional artists and provide outreach programming for young people and their caregivers. We believe that live theatre develops artistic awareness, learning skills and a sense of well-being in children.
